WOOL AND MERINO RUGS

  • We recommend always using a rug pad beneath your rug; this will extend the life of your rug, prevent slipping on hard floors, and create a more plush feel underfoot.
  • Rotate your rug regularly to ensure even wear.
  • For cut pile rugs, you may use a broom to gently sweep the rug to fluff the pile.
  • Take care when moving furniture across your rug to prevent snags and pilling.
  • Vacuum regularly with suction only, never with a rotating brush, which may damage fibers.
  • Keep away from excessive moisture and away from high-traffic areas where it may be soiled by water.
  • For small spills, blot immediately with a clean cloth and sparkling water or club soda; do not rub the stain, as it may cause it to spread.
  • If necessary, clean the spill by blotting with a mild soap and water, being sure to remove all residual soap with clean water.
  • After spot cleaning your rug, absorb as much excess water as possible with a dry towel. Place a dry towel beneath the spot on the rug and allow it to air dry naturally. Do not use a hair dryer or other heated appliance to dry the rug, as this may cause damage.
  • Do not use any chemicals or over-the-counter rug cleaners on your rug, as they may cause the treated area to discolor.
  • We suggest you have your rugs professionally cleaned by an experienced rug cleaner specializing in hand-knotted rugs as needed or every 2-3 years.

BABY ALPACA

Baby Alpaca is an incredibly resilient fiber, but like wool, it prefers not to be washed. We recommend dry cleaning your throws and pillow covers only when necessary.

BRASS

Our brass pieces are crafted out of heavy gauge un-lacquered brass. Should you prefer a shine on your piece we recommend polishing it with a brass polish like Brasso. Otherwise, our preference, is to let it age naturally and create a beautiful patina all of its own.

For our candle holders we suggest using exclusively 100% Beeswax candles. Beeswax candles are non-toxic and burn cleaner than any other type of candle. They emit a bright, warm glow similar to natural sunlight, offer significantly longer burn times than other wax varieties, and are generally dripless when used properly.
